What to do After Your Injury
The first thing to do after your injury and you have cleared your head is to take notes. It may be the last thing you feel like doing, but it will be invaluable later on. Write down everything you can remember about the accident. Start with what you were doing before it happened. Think of every minute detail you can such as the time, the weather, and who you were with. Then document the accident. Include everything like what you saw, what you felt, and what happened. If there was a witness, write down what he or she said after it happened.
If you think of something later, write it down. Keep adding to your notes. Keep track of the injury in the days following such as every ache and pain. It would be a good thing to keep your notepad handy for a few days after the injury so you can continue taking notes about everything you remember. If you don’t write these details down, you may forget them as time passes. These notes will make it easier for you later to describe to an insurance company how much and what kind of pain and discomfort you were in.
